Yesterday for Classroom Computer Applications, my class and I visited Lincoln Elementary in order to look at their use of smart boards. It was interesting to see the 1st grade class use their white board in order to learn how to count money and the value of it. Things have definitely changed since I was in 1st grade, which doesn't even seem that long ago! It was cool to see that the students had a worksheet that matched the computer slideshow so they could follow along. It really made the work hands-on and intriguing for both the students and the adult helpers. There were multiple stations in the classroom so they had a lot of independence when it came to their learning that day. Which was made possible from the use of smart boards. Unfortunately, I didn't get to see anymore than that first classroom because I had to leave early, however I'm looking forward to going back in the future.
